Microsoft is getting rid of three of their premier map programs in favor of unifying them all into Bing Maps.
This should be a favorable move for us end users since it will mean consolidating features into one handy place. Bing Maps is already fantastic but looks to be getting even better in the coming months.
The three map programs that are being retired are: MapPoint, Streets & Trips and AutoRoute. Support for these products will still be available for at least another year and all licenses and copies of the software previously purchased are still valid and will continue to work as they already do.
Unification is good!
